The Southern Oregon Development League (SODL) is designed for clubs, teams, and players to continue their soccer development through local competition in the Southern Oregon Valley. The SODL is suitable for mid-level Recreation and Developmental level players and teams. Competitive and Select level players and teams are better suited for Classic or Premier leagues offered in the area and around the state.
Who:

All players must be registered with US Youth Soccer through the Oregon Youth Soccer Association to participate. Teams and players with current membership in OYSA may enter teams into the SODL. Players without membership in OYSA must register through an OYSA affiliated club in order to participate into the SODL.
When:
The SODL will fall season will take place (Sept-Oct) and spring season (Apr-May). Team and player registration will open in fall (June) and spring (Jan) and close in fall (Aug) and spring (Mar). Teams, divisions, and schedules will be created and organized by SODL leadership following the close of registration. Schedules will be posted 2 weeks prior to the season. SODL seasons will be 8 weeks long with games played on Saturdays.
Where:
The SODL participating clubs will host home games at the following locations: (OFA) Dutch Bros Soccer Complex (DBSC) at the Josephine County Fairgrounds in Grants Pass, (RVT) Lithia and Driveway Fields (Formerly US Cellular) in Medford, ( ASC) North Mountain Park in Ashland, (OFA-Alliance) Twin Creeks Park in Central Point.
How:

Clubs, teams, and players without current OYSA membership must register through an OYSA affiliated club (ASC, OFA, RRSC, RVT, or SOSA) by the registration deadline for submission to OYSA. Players and teams will participate on teams based on birth year with the oldest player on a team roster defining the division for the team.
SODL divisions will be U11/12 (accepted player birth years 2013/2012/2011) and U13/14 (accepted player birth years 2010/2009/2008). *U15 (2008) 8th grade players will be allowed to participate in the U13/14 division. All SODL divisions will play 9v9 on reduced size fully lined turf and/or grass fields.
Southern Oregon Referee Academy (SORA) will provide referees for SODL matches. Spring 2022 Pilot Season team registration fees ($50) will be used to cover a portion of SORA costs. The remaining balance of SORA costs tor Spring 2022 Pilot Season will be paid by Oregon Futbol Academy.
Why:
The purpose of the SODL is to create balanced recreation and development level team competition across all age groups in order to maximize player development. Competitions will strive for equity in playing time and balanced field position experience in order to capitalize on the development of players skill and understanding of the game. Games will be played in a small sided format (9v9) which increases player touches and decision making opportunities. While the focus will be on player development, games are fun and competition is part of learning.
Cost:
Player fee is unique to each registering club (ACS, OFA, OFA Alliance, RVT, SOSA)
SODL Team Registration - $50 per team (SODL will invoice each participating club)
